At Fun Time Entertainment and Your Enchanted Face we talk with parents every day as they plan their childrens’ birthday parties. One of the things we ask parents is if their party will have a theme. We get varied responses ranging from a theme that has been carefully planned for months to no theme at all. Really, a theme is optional. Some people really enjoy unifying a party with a theme that their children love and some choose a colorful party without a theme. We have attended wonderful parties on both sides of the theme fence!
If, however, you decide to choose a theme, here are a few tips to start:
1. Ask Your Child: Toddlers might not know what a theme is, but you can ask them what kind of party they want. You can suggest a regular theme like pirates or mermaids – or talk to them about their favorite shows. Your kid will know what makes them happy!
2. Go to Pinterest: If you have the time, Pinterest has a GAZILLION ideas for every theme on the planet. You can choose to make your own party treats and decorations or order them. Whatever you do, you are sure to gain some creative juice from Pinterest!
3. Order Early: If you want to be sure that you have the products you want for the big day, it is best to order early. There’s nothing like walking into target the night before your party only to find the mermaid plates they had last week are gone. Purchasing early and doing a little research can save you a lot of time and money. US Toy and Oriental Trading are a couple of options that can really save time and money.
4. Bring on the ENTERTAINMENT: Consider a themed show, face painting or other entertainment to bring your theme to life!
